Datarwe is extremely pleased to be the official platform partner and sponsor of Australia’s biggest national healthcare Datathon, organised by IntelliHQ and ANZICS, the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society.
The Healthcare Datathon is an immersive two-day workshop for solving unique healthcare challenges with artificial intelligence and machine learning models and using real-world healthcare datasets.
Clinicians will team up with data scientists, technologists and data & computer science students from across the country to investigate healthcare problems in the form of a datathon.
In the limited time frame available, teams will strive to develop minimum viable solutions that they present to their fellow teams at a national ‘Pitch night’ on Thursday October the 20th.
Prizes will be awarded by Datarwe in the form of further data platform access and data science support to the winning teams, enabling them to further develop their clinical solution.
What is a Datathon?
A Datathon consists of using data sets and prototype solutions, using machine learning and artificial intelligence, to solve community problems.
- When: 8:30 am – 3:00 pm AEST | 15th – 16th October 2022
- Where: In-person Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth + virtual attendance
- When: 4:30 pm – 8:00 pm AEST | 20th October 2022
- Where: In-person Brisbane
This Datathon is the final part of the National Big Data Capture, Management & Analysis, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) training program. This program is supported the Australian Government’s Researcher Exchange and Development within Industry (REDI) Initiative, powered by MTP Connect.
The data available at the Datathon
The program’s hospital partners have committed to providing teams with de-identified real patient data from Australian patients. These data sets will contain hundreds of thousands of data points covering the below areas of healthcare – list not exhaustive:
- Critical care
Examples of types of data are:
- clinical data, ex. lab results, vital sign medications, clinical notes, etc.
- operational data, ex. drug prescription and usage, clinical costing, etc.
- medical research data, ex. pharmacokinetics, images, microbiological, etc.
- other data: diagnostic imaging PBS prescription data, patient demographics etc.
Datarwe Official Platform Provider
Datarwe will be providing data science and data engineering support, as well as the underlying platform for the national datathon through its Clinical Data Nexus (CDN) platform. The CDN is a secure, governanced platform offering wide and deep access to streaming de-identified real-world clinical data for clinical innovation and research translation.
“Datarwe is pleased to support the aim of the MTP Connect Program as it perfectly aligns with Datarwe’s vision of the Clinical Data Nexus platform which connects hospitals, researchers, clinicians and product developers with curated, enriched real world clinical. Datarwe’s data scientists and engineers look forward to interacting with senior clinicians and healthcare executives in executing a range of clinical projects as part of the national datathon”
